OVERVIEW
New financial software and services firm seeks strong C# developer to commercialize desktop application. The application provides companies a faster, more effective way for an organization to model and measure its future financial performance.
WHAT WE NEED
We need a solid C# developer to work with an experienced System Architect (SA) and Subject Matter Expert (SME) to complete the application. Knowledge of the .NET environment and SQL Server is also needed. Planned beta release is January, 2007.
WHAT WE OFFER
This opportunity is offered on a part-time, independent contractor basis. This is a great additional project for the developer who likes to work on multiple assignments. Travel is not required and you can work from home. On occasion, there may be trips to the Berkeley Heights, NJ area to meet with the SA and SME.
Extensive work has already been done on the application. The documentation and tools that will be provided to you include:
• Domain and data model
• Application overview, including business purpose
• Detailed specifications, including screenshots of forms
• Ubiquitous language document: glossary of terms to enhance understanding of application and business language
• Prototype written in VB, complete with source code
• Emulator written in Excel to show formula calculations and interrelationships of data
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Your primary responsibility is to write code, however, you will be expected to contribute to the overall design and usability of the program.
1. Provide rapid, frequent delivery of deliverables for review. This is needed to keep the momentum of the project moving forward at a brisk pace.
2. Utilize N-Unit to test all code.
3. Define and develop an application framework.
4. Utilize Microsoft Enterprise Library to jump start the application development.
5. Develop T-SQL stored procedures for all database activity.
6. Develop a UI utilizing Microsoft, Infragistics and custom UI controls as needed.
REQUIREMENTS
Work Experience:
• Minimum 5 years experience developing desktop database applications.
• Experience with financial or accounting applications.
• Experience using Infragistics presentation layer tools a big plus.
• Familiarity with Test Driven Development and Domain Driven Design are a big plus.
Tools:
• Must have .NET development environment.
• C# programming language, SQL and T-SQL.
• Strong object-oriented coding methodology.
Educational Experience:
• Bachelors Degree
Time:
• Estimated to be approximately 20 hours per week
Job location is Berkeley Heights, NJ
Compensation: $50 - $65 per hour
Telecommuting is ok.
